About

My work is deeply informed by social issues, centering feminism, equality, and the search for meaning through abstract and figurative expressionism. It is also about reclaiming worth, freedom, and voice—for those of us who were told to stay small. Much of the work lives in the space between breakthrough and becoming, where transformation is raw, unresolved, and honest.

The figures I paint are more than icons or heroes—I imagine being in dialogue with them. That dialogue helps me explore how their stories continue to resonate today, not as distant myths but as living reminders of our shared experience. I hope the work encourages viewers to explore their own connections to these stories and to reflect on the vulnerabilities and courage we hold in common.

I am an interdisciplinary artist, though painting is my primary medium. I also work in printmaking, collage, drawing, and bookmaking. My process is rooted in layering—color, texture, and symbolic forms that build on one another. Some pieces begin with a clear idea, others with only a mood, but all are guided by the same search for honesty and connection. This approach allows me to hold contradictions in the work: boldness and vulnerability, beauty and shadow, rebellion and compassion.

For me, art is a form of dialogue—an exchange that connects ideas, history, and people. At its best, the work offers recognition: a reminder of our shared humanity, our vulnerabilities, and our courage, and the space we navigate between who we have been and who we are becoming.
