Kinza Muzahir
About
Kinza Muzahir is a writer, producer, and interdisciplinary artist based in Houston, with roots in New York and Pakistan. She has studied digital media at the University of Houston, and journalism at London School of Economics. She started as a game designer in 2014, and since then, has worked in public media, commercial, and narrative spaces, including with Crocs and Houston Public Media (Houston's PBS and NPR affiliate station).
Kinza’s work meets where technology, interdisciplinary art, and purpose create well-researched cross-platform narratives to immerse audiences in curated environments. Her work is rooted in the artistic and sociological appreciation of the depth and wonder of the human condition. Through it, she explores how geographies shape people and, consequently, communities.
A strong technical and conceptual academic foundation in narrative frameworks fuels her passion for creative writing, design, and digital technologies, yet her process always starts on the page. Ever a poet, her lens is influenced by storytelling to create experiences through literary and visual devices.
Kinza can often be found writing, illustrating or recording in her studio during the day, and performing at open mics at night. She is a 6-time Graphic Excellence Award winner, a member of the Asian American Documentary Network, and currently works on user experience design as a strategist for BrandExtract in Houston.
