About

Adam Sprague is an American artist living and working in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed a BFA in Studio Art and a BA in Art History at Georgia State University. Previously, he received an AS in Art from Perimeter College at Georgia State University and studied interrelated media arts at Massachusettes College of Art and Design.

Sprague is currently developing a body of artwork concerning dreams, altered states, neurobiology, and layered perceptions of reality. His drawings and paintings relate experiences of shifting memory and perception by using a visual language of dream cues and overlapping systems of perspective.

This work includes drawing, painting, mixed media, and installation using interdisciplinary techniques. Three works in this vein, based on fMRI images of his own brain, were recently selected for exhibition at the 2023 Brains and Behavior Annual Retreat in Atlanta.
